Mr. Joshua Clifton Holley Sr., age 69. of Pelham, passed away Friday 23 Feb 1968, unexpectedly at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla. Funeral services were held Sunday, 25 Feb 1968, at the Pelham First Baptist church at 3:00 PM with Rev B. H. Parrish, Rev Forest Sellers and Rev Max Thurman officiating. Interment was held in Pelham Cemetery. Frank Cain, Robert Simpson, George Shirah, David White, Ivy White and Jessie Raiford served as pall bearers. Mr. Holley was a member of the Proctor Free Will Chapel. He was born in Miller County, Georgia, 29 Oct 1898, son of the late Joshua Glover and Anna Rentz Holley. He married the former Audrey Luckey on 12 Apr 1952. Survivors are his wife, a stepmother, Mrs. Lessie Holley of Vidalia; one son, Joshua Clifton Holley Jr., of Jacksonville, Fla; two daughters, Mrs. Dewey Hayes of Pelham and Mrs. Jack McGalliard of Pelham, five brothers, O. G. Holley of Columbus, J. P. Holley of Dadeville, Ala., C. C. Holley of Juliet, Ga., W. T. Holley of Barnesville and A. H. Holley of Rockmart, Ga.; one sister, Mrs. Will Hood of Greenville, Ala; three grandchildren. Braswell Funeral Home of Pelham was in charge of arrangements.
