Funeral services for John Leggett Eubanks, 80, of Sale City, will be held Thursday 22 Sep 1966 at 10:00 AM from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev Lewis Crosby and the Rev R. E. Dorsey officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery with the Braswell Funeral Home of Pelham n charge. Mr. Eubanks, a native and lifelong resident of Mitchell County, died Tuesday, 20 Sep 1966 at the Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville following a short illness. He was born 8 February 1886 in Sale City and was the son of the late James Edward and Anna McManus Eubanks. He married Miss Mary Palmer on 17 Aug 1910 who still survives. He was a member of the Antioch Methodist Church, a landowner and farmer of the Pebble City Community. Other survivors include two sons; Allen and Leonard Eubanks of Pelham and one daughter, Miss Ruby Eubanks of Sale City; 6 grandchildren and two brothers; R. J. Eubanks of Sale City and O. A. Eubanks of Albany. The body was to lie in state at the church from 9:00 AM to the funeral hour.
