Camilla, Georgia. James Emory McCarty, age 43, was found dead at his home early Monday, 26 Mar 1962, morning apparently having suffered a heart attack. Mr. McCarty had been under a doctor's care for some time. Funeral services were held Tuesday, 27 Mar 1962, at 3:00 PM at Camilla Methodist Church with the pastor, Rev Orman Sloat, officiating assisted by Rev Edgar T. Davis. Interment followed in Oakview Cemetery with Bramlett Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. McCarty a native of Mitchell County, was the son of the late Emmett McCarty and was employed by the State Highway Department as a surveyor for Mitchell County. He was a member of Camilla Methodist Church. Survivors, in addtion to his mother, include his wife MaeRoye (sp?) Elizabeth Sizemore McCarty, and four children, Marsha McCarty, Jody McCarty, James E. McCarty Jr., and Eddie McCarty, all of Camilla, and a twin brother, Thomas McCarty of Camilla.
