Camilla, Georgia. Funeral Services for Mrs. J. R. Poitevint, 97, of Vada were conducted Wednesday, 26 May 1965 at 3:00 PM at Hopeful Baptist Church by the Revs Vinson Gammage and Joe Holden. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Poitevint died at her home Tuesday, 25 May 1965, after a long illness. She was a longtime resident of Decatur County and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Survivors include four sons, C. E. Poitevint of Pulaski, Tenn., C. L. Poitevint of Dothan, Ala., R. L. Poitevint of Daytona, Fla., and W. L. Poitevint of Orlando, Fla.; four sisters, Mrs. A. B. Boutwell of Lakeland, Fla., Mrs. T. G. Sullivan of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. W. M. Carmack of Milledgeville, Ga., and Mrs. R. L. Allen of Camilla; 29 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Ivey Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
