Obituary of Minnie Ida Long Shiver 
with unknown source and dated 18 Aug 1966.  
Obituary found in a file folder in Library in Albany, Georgia.  The name of the paper was 
not given, but it was dated Thursday, August 18, 1966.

MRS. SHIVER, 89, DIES IN 
HOSPITAL:  Mrs. Minnie Ida Shiver died at Brooks County Hospital on Tuesday August 
16th. She was 89 years old. The Widow of J. B. Shiver, she was a native of Brooks 
County and had lived here all of her life.  She was a beloved member of the Philadelphia 
Baptist Church from which she was buried Wednesday, August 17th at 4:00 p.m. with the 
Rev Lee Hamlin officiating.  Mrs. Shiver is survived by two sons, W. J. Shiver of 
Atlanta, and Herbert C. Shiver of Quitman.  She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Herbert L. 
McAllister of Quitman, and a sister, Mrs. Eunice M. Ross, of Macon. Interment was in 
Philadelphia Cemetery.  Maxwell Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
