Mansfield as written in "The Camilla Enterprise" dated 29 Nov 1962. Camilla, Georgia. Morgan Mansfield, age 85, of RFD No. 1, Newton, died Thursday, 22 Nov 1962, at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany after a brief illness. Funeral services were held at the Sale City Baptist Church Friday, 23 Nov 1962, at 3:00 PM conducted by Rev H. N. Earnest of Moultrie and Rev F. F. Moore, pastor of the Sale City Baptist Church. Interment was in Sale City Cemetery with Bramlett Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Serving as pall bearers were David M. Kennedy, Fred Mansfield, H. J. Rackley, Harry C. Musgrove, O. V. Taylor jr., and Larry Taylor. Mr. Mansfield was born in Mitchell County, the son of the late Henry Jacob and Elizabeth Crosby Mansfield. He lived near Sale City before moving to Lee County, Ga., where he was farm supervisor for the Harper-Ward farms for about five years. After leaving Lee County he went to Baker County and was farm supervisor of Pineland Plantation for thirteen years. For the past seventeen years he has operated the Mansfield Grocery on the Albany-Newton highway. Mr. Mansfield was a member of the Sale City Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lillie Kennedy Mansfield; one daughter, Mrs. Carrie Belle Harris of Albany; one brother, Miles Mansfield of Pelham. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a large number of nieces and nephews.
