Mrs. Selma Pearl Adams, widow of H. L. Adams, of Pelham, died Thursday, 23 Jul 1964, at her residence after an illness of several months. She was eighty-three years old. Funeral services were held Friday, 24 Jul 1964, at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Pelham. Rev Max Thurman, pastor, officiated. Interment was in the Pelham Cemetery with Braswell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Albert Whaley, Bronwood Tennyson, Gifford Flynt, Charlie Pollock, Lester Pilard and Alton Whaley. Mrs. Adams, a member of Pelham First Baptist Church, was a daughter of Wyatt and Mary Seigler Adams of Pelham. Survivors include a son, Harmon Adams Jr. of Pelham; four daughters, Mrs. Mildred A. Dorsett and Mrs. J. C. Newsome of Pelham, Mrs. C. D. Huey of Goldsboro, N. C. and Mrs. E. C. Shearin of New Bern, N. C.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
