Camilla, Georgia. Funeral services for Thomas Embry Palmer, age 84, retired Camilla farmer who died Monday at Whispering Pines Nursing Home in Thomasville, were held Tuesday afternoon at four o'clock at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Officiating was the Rev. Edgar T. Davis, Jr., pastor of First Baptist Church of Camilla, the Rev. Jasper Sadler, of Pelham and the Rev. M. D. Reed. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Bramlett Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Born in Mitchell County, Mr. Palmer was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a Mason who had recently received his 50-year service pin. He is survived by seven sons, Cecil Palmer of Elberton, Turner Palmer of Mobile, Ala., Austic (sic) Palmer of Tifton, Frank and Ed Palmer of Camilla, Tom Palmer of Hampton, Va. and Leslie Daniel of Potomas Beach,Va; five sisters, Mrs. O. L. Davis, Mrs. B. C. Williams, Miss Viola Palmer and Mrs. Frank Jones, all of Camilla, and Mrs. Johnny Eubanks of Sale City; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Palmer's wife preceded him in death several years ago.
