Akridge as written in "The Camilla Enterprise" dated 18 Dec 1968. Funeral services for Warner J. Akridge, 86, of Pelham, who died Saturday, 14 Dec 1968, at his home after a lengthy illness, were held Sunday, 15 Dec 1968, at 4:00 PM at Hand Memorial Methodist Church. Rev R. E. Dorsey and Rev W. Man Thurmond officiated. Internment was in Pinccrest Memorial Gardens. Born 15 Nov 1882, a native of Sale City, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Akridge. He was a member of the Hand Memorial Methodist Church, Woodmen of the World, and was superintendent of the Hand Trading Company grain elevator for many years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Lee Cook Akridge of Pelham: two sons, Milton Akridge of Albany and Mickey Akridge of Florence, S. C., two daughters, Mrs. Haskell Frosteg of Pelham and Mrs. Jack Bryant of Decatur, Ga., eight grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Essie Branch of Cocoa, Fla. Braswell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
