The funeral for Walter Emory cook, 66, Rt. 2, Leesburg, Georgia was held Saturday, 21 Jun 1969 at 5:00 PM from the Chapel of the Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home. Rev Bobby Moye and Rev Dallas Bell officiated. Interment followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were Claude Shiver, Lynwood Shiver, Neil shiver, Stanley Shiver, Bobby Cook and Dick Cook. Mr. Cook was pronounced dead on arrival at Terrell County Hospital, Wednesday, 18 Jun 1969, after having suffered an apparent heart attack at his home. A native of Mitchell County, he was a son of the late Robert Tillman and Mattie Jarvis Cook. He was owner and operator of General Merchandise in the Cooksville Community. He was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Williams Cook of Leesburg; one son, Weyman Cook of Ocilla; one daughter, Mrs. Nell Thornton of Brooksfield, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
