Funeral services for Mr. Aulton Brooks Akridge Sr., 69 years of age, were conducted Thursday, 17 Apr 1975, afternoon at 4:00 P. M. from the chapel of the Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Noel and Dr. Tom Watson officiated with interment in the Akridge Cemetery. Mr. Akridge died Tuesday, 15 Apr 1975, morning at the Vereen Memorial Hospital in Moultrie after a brief illness. Mr. Akridge was born 28 August 1905 in Mitchell County, Ga. He was the son of the late Daniel H. and Minnie Lee Faircloth Akridge. He was a farmer, a member of the Antioch Methodist Church and a member of the Pelham Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elsie Majors Akridge of Hartsfield, one son, Aulton B. Akridge Jr. of Hartsfield, one daughter, Mrs. Seena A. Holland of Albany; four brothers, V. T. Akridge of Newton, A. H. Akridge of Albany, H. K. Akridge of Phoenix, Arizona, and H. L. Akridge of Pelham; five sisters, Mrs. Nita Hughes of Auburndale, Fla., Mrs. Prudence Moore of Attapulgus, Ga., Mrs. Laverne Thomas of Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Sennette Turner of Plains, Ga. and Mrs. Cullis Tarmey of Maitland, Fla. and three grandchildren. Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
