Funeral services for Byron E. Hart, age sixty-eight, were held yesterday, Thursday, 11 May 1972 at 4:00 PM from the chapel of Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla with Rev Edgar T. Davis Jr., pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment followed in Oakview Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Bennett Price, Edgar T. Crosby, Jimmy Crosby, Stacy Suber, Walter Jones and Joe Willis. Forming an honorary escort were Jim Williford, Porter Blalock, Charles Kolbie, Julian Stoudenmire, Fred Bullard, Thomas Arline, Hal Carlisle, Winston Cross, Cecil Thomas, Carroll Spence, Ottiest Baker and Price Irvin. Mr. Hart died around 4:00 AM Wednesday, 10 May 1972 at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla. He had been in failing health for some time. He worked for a number of years as a city mail carrier in Camilla, forming many warm friendships with people over Camilla as he served them daily with their mail. He was a member of the First Baptist church. He was born in Mitchell county 20 Jul 1903, son of the late Simon Hart and Georgia Shiver Hart. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hilda Jo Hart of Camilla; a daughter, Miss Kathy Jo Hart of Camilla; a brother, Dewey Hart of Camilla; two sisters, Mrs Lena Crosby of Camilla, an Mrs. W. B. Sloan of Pelham.
