Camilla, Georgia. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, 21 Nov 1971, at 2:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church for Charles L. (Dick) Griner Sr., who died Friday afternoon, 19 Nov 1971, at the age of sixty-three after a lengthy illness. Officiating at the services was the Rev A. L. Brannen, Rev A. L. Davis and Rev Ernest Veal. Interment was in the church cemetery with Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home of Camilla in charge of arrangements. Serving as pallbearers were Donald Griner, Ralph Eubanks, J. I. Eubanks, Bill Eubanks, Hinton Reeves and Asa Branch. Acting as honorary pallbearers were Pat Crow, Frank Twitty, Albert Palmer, James Martin, Clovis Turk and E. M. Kelly. Mr. Griner was born in Colquitt County but had spent the greater part of his life in Mitchell County. His parents were the late C. G. Griner and Maude Weaver Griner. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Eubanks Griner; two sons, Charles Griner, Jr. of Camilla, and Ivey W. Griner of Tifton; two daughters, Mrs. Maryline G. Smith of Augusta and Miss Ava Griner of Camilla; one sister, Mrs. J. G. Crovatt of Camilla; two grandchildren.
