Camilla, Georgia. Funeral services took place at the graveside Sunday, 12 Apr 1970, at 2:00 PM in Oakview Cemetery in Camilla for Mrs. Albert R. (Edna Brimberry) Roles, who died at the age of eighty-three early last Saturday, 10 Apr 1970, morning. Rev Ernest Veal, pastor of Camilla United Methodist Church, and Rev Edgar T. Davis Jr., pastor of the First Baptist Church of Camilla officiated at the services. Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Serving as honorary escort at the graveside were Charles Mathews, Charles Taylor Jr., James Gordon Davis, William Davis, Vernon Twitty, Cameron Head, Dan Palmer Jr., Julian Rivers, Tom Cobb, Jim Williford, Frank Twitty Sr., Charles Kolbie, Fred Bullard, Cecil Thomas, Carroll (BoJay) Spence, Byron Hart, T. B. Twitty Jr., Hal Cochran, Mrs. Paschal Ward, Winston Cross, Bobby Owens, Julian Stoudenmire, Otis Baker, Thomas Arline, Eric Cross, Mr. and Mrs. Porter Blalock, Wallace Worsham, Morris Kolbie and Johnny Singleton. Survivors included three daughters, Mrs. Crawford Pilcher of Warrenton, Mrs. Marvin Crosson and Mrs. R. D. Covington of Camilla; one sister, Mrs. Neva Laseter of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Roles was born 4 Nov 1886, in Camilla, daughter of the late Thomas and Lena Parker Brimberry. Mrs. Roles was a veteran of more than fifty years of service at the local post office. She began as a child of about twelve or fourteen helping her father who was postmaster. That was in the days of no delivery, everyone going to the post office to get their mail. She sat on a special high stool and helped her father by handing out the mail. She was married as a very young girl to David Einstein who died just a few years afterwards. Several children were born of this union but only one survived. In December of 1916 she was happily married to Albert R. Roles, local plumber, who preceded her in death on 16 May 1958. Mrs. Roles worked all of her life in the post office with the exception of several months during World War I when her husband was serving in Europe and she was with the old Jenkins Drug Store. Mrs. Roles held the job of assistant postmaster for a number of years here in Camilla. She was a lifelong member of the Camilla Methodist Church. She retired at the age of 66 back in 1952 from the post office. Coming from out of town for the services Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. William Pilcher of Warrenton, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Wyman Pilcher of Marietta, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Perry Rountree and Miss Kay Rountree of Metter, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ray of Warrenton, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Brown of Sharon, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Charles Eberhardt of Atlanta, Mr. and Mrs. Alpha Fowler Jr. of Douglasville, Ga., Mr. Tom Laseter and Mrs. Neva Laseter of Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Malcolm Fincher of Dublin, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Claude Wilson of Cordele, Mr. and Mrs. Carr Dodson and daughter, Mary Christie of Macon, Miss Suzanne Pilcher of Macon, Mrs. Virginia Kirk of Thomasville and Dr. and Mrs. Jack Palmer of Athens, Ga.
