Camilla, Georgia. Funeral services of Miss Ethlyn Shirah, 70, Pelham, who died Friday, 13 Sep 1974 at Nursecare Nursing Home in Thomasville, were conducted Sunday, 15 Sep 1974 at 3:00 PM from Braswell Funeral Home chapel. The Rev Raymond Parker officiated. Interment was in Pelham Cemetery. Pallbearers were David White, Will T. Castleberry, Leroy Rich, Jack McGalliard, Dewey Hayes and Clarence Brock. Miss Shirah was born 23 Apr 1904 in Mitchell County. She was the daughter of the Mrs. Annie Palmer Whitley of Pelham and the late Jessie Shirah. She was a member of Hand Memorial United Methodist Church and a retired Coats and Clark employee. Survivors in addition to her mother are three brothers, W. R. Whitley of Pelham, J. R. Whitley of Columbus and J. L. Whitley of Albany; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Cook, Mrs. M. E. Broadway and Mrs. Cleve Cranford, all of Pelham. Braswell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
