Camilla, Georgia. Bringing sorrow and grief to a host of friends along with relatives was news of the death of Euitt Powell Palmer, age fifty-six, of 180 Heath Street in Camilla. He had not been sick and had been enjoying a television show at his residence when he was struck by a heart attack and died almost instantly. He was pronounced dead at Mitchell County Hospital where he was carried. Funeral service will be held this afternoon, Friday, 15 August 1975, at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Camilla where he held membership and was a faithful worshiper. Officiating will be his pastor, Rev Edgar T. Davis Jr. and Rev Al Davis of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Serving as pallbearers will be Grover Cleveland, Gordon Mullis, Paul A. Wright Jr., Bob Dunn, Irvin Beckwith, James Ricks, Clyde Cox and Lynwood Shiver. Forming an honorary escort will be Edward B. Hilliard, Robert Culpepper, Tom Cobb, Tom Peek, Lewis Campbell, Robert Walker and members of the Fellowship Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church. Interment will take place in Oakview Cemetery with Parker- Bramlett Funeral Home of Camilla in charge of arrangements. Mr. Palmer was a native of Mitchell County. He was born 23 Oct 1918. His father was the late T. H. Palmer and his mother who survives is Mrs. Mabel Powell Palmer of Camilla. He was the maintenance superintendent for the Camilla Housing Authority and a member of the First Baptist Church of Camilla. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Elsie Wright Palmer of Camilla; one daughter Mrs. Mary Carleen Poitivent of Orange Park, Fla.; two sons, Joe and Kennon Keith Palmer of Camilla; his mother, Mrs. Mabel Powell Palmer of Camilla; two sisters, Mrs. A. L. Johnson of Camilla and Mrs. Stanley Shiver of Quitman; four brothers, Jack M. Palmer of Camilla, Billy Palmer of Albany, Toby Palmer of Cuthbert and Max Palmer of Claxton, Ga; also two grandchildren.
