Camilla, Georgia. Mrs. A. T. Rigsby Sr., prominent Mitchell County farm woman and former school teacher for a number of years, died early Thursday morning, 22 May 1975, at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held this afternoon, Friday, 23 May 1975, at 4:00 PM at Pebble City Baptist Church where she had held membership and worshiped faithfully with her family for a number of years. Officiating at the services will be her close friend, Rev W. F. Dyches, Rev Phillip Newton, a former pastor of the church and Rev Glenn Hobby who is serving as interim pastor of the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery where she will be laid to rest by the side of her husband who died only two weeks ago. Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home of Camilla will be in charge of arrangements. Nephews will serve as pall bearers and will include: Frank Faircloth, John Faircloth, Millwood Faircloth, Cleburn Faircloth, Joel Faircloth, Harry Wright Loyd Palmer, Waldo Palmer and Elmer Palmer. Mrs. Rigsby was born in Mitchell County 16 Oct 1900 and was seventy-four years of age at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Elias V. Faircloth and Allie Williams Faircloth. Mrs. Rigsby and her late husband farmed in the Pebble City Community for a number of years, dealing largely with cattle, and were successful with their farm operations. They won many honors as farm operators and one year were named Georgia Farm Family of the Year. Their youngest son, A. T. Rigsby Jr., was given the Farm Family of the Year Award at the Young Farmers Associations's First Annual Banquet. Survivors include three sons, Mitchell County School Superintendent Rudy Rigsby, Randy Rigsby and A. T. Rigsby Jr.; three sisters, Mrs. Virginia Sheppard of Camilla, and Mrs. Gladys Wright of Elberton, Ga.; two brothers, Judson Faircloth of Perry, Fla. and Jack Faircloth of Camilla; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
