Camilla, Georgia. The funeral for Mrs. Hortense Goolsby Rackley, 86, Camilla, who died at Mitchell County Hospital Monday, 4 Mar 1974, was conducted Tuesday, 5 Mar 1974, at 5:00 P. M. from Mt. Olive Baptist Church. The Rev Wallace Little and the Rev. Wayne Meadows officiated with interment in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Rackley, Edwin Rackley Jr., Carswell Rackley, Durwood Bentley, Bobby Watts and Horace Hembry. Mrs. Rackley was born in Stuart County, Georgia on 10 Dec 1887, the daughter of the late Rodolph and Alice Goss Goolsby. She came to Mitchell County as school teacher from Stuart County. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Her husband was the late Elias J. Rackley. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. H. D. Eidson of Camilla; Mrs. L. V. Stewart of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. Ray Mooney of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; one brother, G. Goolsby of South Bend, Indiana; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Slocum and Mrs. J. P. Peterson of Carrollton, Ga. and Mrs. Bobbie Jones of Brooksville, Fla.; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Braswell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
