Quitman (Brooks), Georgia. Mrs. Alice McCranie Shiver, 65, died at the Brooks County Hospital June 26th following an illness of several weeks. Her husband, Herbert Cornelius Shiver, had preceded her in death by one month. Mrs. Shiver was born February 14, 1908 in Cook County, a daughter of the late John McCranie and Sallie McKinney McCranie. She moved to Quitman from Savannah in 1960 and was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. She is survived by one brother, Bill McCranie of Macon. Funeral services were held June 27th from Maxwell Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Philadelphia Cemetery. The Rev. James D. Hancock conducted the rites and pallbearers included Kenneth Jones, James Edmondson, Tom Lodge, Roy Jones, Fred McCracken, and Adrian Artuengo.
