The funeral of Mrs. Lena Hart Crosby, 84, of Camilla, who died Monday morning, 2 Dec 1974 at the Mitchell County Convalescent Center, was conducted Tuesday, 3 Dec 1974 at 3:00 PM from the Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev Edgar Davis and the Rev O. A. Collins officiated with interment in the Sunset Cemetery. Pallbearers were Carl Stewart, Tommy Peel, Lewis Holt, Brantley Collins, Charles Mathews and W. W. Kirbo. Mrs. Crosby was born in Mitchell County on 12 May 1890. She was the daughter of the late Simon Hart and Georgia Shiver Hart. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Camilla. She was a very active part of the nursery department of the church until her health began to fail. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. W. L. Hancock of Camilla and Mrs. V. T. Akridge of Newton and two sons, Julian Crosby of Camilla and Edgar Crosby of Newton. Also surviving are one brother, Dewey Hart of Whigham, Ga.; one sister, Mrs. W. V. Sloan of Pelham. Six grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren also survive. Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home of Camilla was in charge of arrangements.
