Obituary of Lula Palmer Yates 
as written in "The Camilla Enterprise" dated 5 Jul 1972.  

Camilla, Georgia.  The funeral service of Mrs. Lula Palmer Yates, 86, Pelham, 
who died Sunday, 2 Jul 1972, Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, was held 
Monday, 3 Jul 1972, at 4:00 PM from Braswell Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev Bill 
Perry officiated.  Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mac Palmer Sr., 
Mac Palmer Jr., Marion Hill, George smith, Clyde Brock and Winifred Joiner.  Born in 
Mitchell county 22 Sep 1885 she was a daughter of the late Seab and Lila Luckey 
Palmer. Her husband was the late H. H. Yates who died 25 Jun 1970.  She was a member 
of the Pelham First Baptist Church.  Survivors include two sons, Vaughn L. Yates and 
Maitland Yates of Pelham; on daughter, Mrs. Becton Isler of Mobile, Ala.; three brothers, 
Julius, Ben Hill and Albert Palmer, all of Camilla; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Maples and 
Miss Vera Palmer of Camilla; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  Braswell 
funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
