Roy Vinson High, age sixty-five, died at Mitchell County Hospital Saturday 2 Oct 1976, and funeral services for him were held Saturday 3 Oct 1976 at 4:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he held membership. Officiating at the services was the pastor, Rev Al Davis and Rev Lewis Crosby. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Durant Parker, Buster Lanters, Larry Fudge, Bobby Fudge, Mike High, and Randall High. Honorary pallbearers were Fred Grant, Thomas Reagan, Charlie Pollock, Shorty Glausier, Douglas Durant, Reese Brazel, Bill Colvin, Ben Hill Palmer and Perry Willingham. Mr. High was born in Mitchell County, 22 Jan 1911, son of the late Jessie High and Mattie Mae Everett High. He was a petroleum company truck driver. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nancy Mansfield High of Camilla one son, Jessie High of Nashua, New Hampshire; one daughter, Mrs. Patsy Carroll of Hartsfield; one brother, Marvin High of Albany; one sister, Mrs. Eloise O'Conner of Winter Haven, Fla.; two half- brothers, Steve Fudge of Baconton and Dolphus Fudge of Thomasville; one half-sister, Mrs. Jett Lanters of Thomasville; his stepfather, Frank Fudge of Pelham. Six grandchildren also survive.
