Funeral services for Mr. S. L. (Buddy) Burnette, age 60, who died Monday night, 12 Nov 1979, at the Colquitt County Hospital in Moultrie will be held today, Wednesday, 14 Nov 1979, at 11:00 AM, from the Sale City Baptist Church. Rev Marshall Dixon and Rev Ernest Morey will officiate. Interment will be in the Sale City Cemetery. Mr. Burnette was a native of Mitchell County. He was the son of the late Silas B. and Mamie Parker Burnette. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the VFW, and a member of the Sale City Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Billy Suber, Jerry, Hank, Tim, Roger and Jeff Burnette, Earl Clements, Wayne Bateman and Stanley Huey. Mr. Burnette is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elsie Linton Burnette of Sale City; a daughter, Mrs. Mack (Kathy) Hays of Baconton; one son, Lee Burnette of Albany; three brothers, James H. Burnette of Camilla, Willis Burnette of Quincy, Fla., and Charles Burnette of Albany; and three grandchildren. Parker Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
