Albany, Georgia. Annice Fain Godwin, 83, of Meigs, died Sunday, 18 Dec 1988, at the Mitchell County Hospital. Graveside services were held at 3:00 PM Monday, 19 Dec 1988, at the Pelham Cemetery, with Dr. Woody Roberts officiating. Mrs. Godwin was born in Grady County, 9 Apr 1905, the daughter of the late Amziah and Gertrude Heape Fain. Her husband was the late Alex Godwin. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Hand Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include one son, Steve J. Godwin of Meigs; seven daughters, Annie Simpson, Ophelia Davis and Nadine Faircloth of Pelham, Dreka Sanders of Albany, Pearl McGrall of Salem, Mo., June Hudson of Clearwater, Fla., and Penny Williams of Lutz, Fla.; 24 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Braswell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
