Camilla, Georgia. Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Belle Thomas Palmer, 84 years of age of Rt. 1, Pelham were conducted Tuesday afternoon, January 27, 1981 at four o'clock in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with interment in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. The Rev. Jasper Sadler and Rev. Al Davis officiated. Mrs. Palmer passed away Sunday, January 25, 1981 at her residence following a brief illness. She was a native of Mitchell County, born March 15, 1896, daughter of the late Joe Thomas and Minnie Cooper Thomas. She was a member fo the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, a housewife and wife of the late Roy Palmer. Serving as pallbearers were Steve Morrell, Alex Morrell, Ralph Collins, Frederick Whitson, Scotty Colvin and Jerry Palmer. Forming an honorary escort were Mrs. Eunice Thomas, Mrs. Winnie Thomas, Mrs. Cora Thomas, Mrs. Hazel Johnson, Mrs. Louise Palmer, Mrs. Lorena Palmer and Mrs. Mary Palmer. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Bill Colvin of Pelham; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Braswell Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
