Camilla, Georgia. Funeral services for Mr. Homer Keadle, 74 years of age, of Camilla were conducted Friday May 15, 1981 at four o'clock from the First Baptist Church, Camilla. Rev Edgar T. Davis and Rev. Don Tennyson officiated with interment i the Oakview Cemetery. Mr. Keadle passed away early Thursday morning May 14, 1981 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Serving as pallbearers were Joe Barber Adams, Carroll Adams, Troy Carlton, E. C. Lunday, Arnold Henslee, Charles Matthews, Vernon Twitty, and Brantley Collins. An honorary group was composed of members of the Fellowship Class and Deacons of the First Baptist Church. A native of Mitchell County, he was born November 9, 1906, son of the late Willie W. Keadle and Claire Maroney Keadle. He was owner of Keadle Brothers Lumber Company with extensive timber operations in the immediate area and operating one of the larger independent sawmills in South Georgia. Mr. Keadle took a very active interest in his church, First Baptist, and served as a Deacon and on many committees throughout his lifetime. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Montine Thornton Keadle of Camilla; three daughters, Mrs. Winston Cross, Mrs. Dewayne Phelps and Mrs. Johnny Taylor, all of Camilla.
