Camilla, Georgia. Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Poitevint Daugherty, 70 years of age were conducted Saturday afternoon, January 24, 1981 at two o'clock from the chapel of Parker Funeral Home. The Rev. A. J. Cook and Rev. Curtis Hawkins officiated with interment in the Pelham City Cemetery. Mrs. Daugherty passed away Thursday, January 22, 1981 in the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. A native of Mitchell County, Mrs. Daugherty was born August 5, 1910, daughter of the late Henry Poitevint and Birdie Gantt Poitevint. She was a member of the Lake Pleasant Baptist Church. Her husband is Fred Daugherty of Pelham. Serving as pallbearers were Lavon Gassett, Terry Gassett, Neal Gassett, Darrell Humphries, Gary Humphries, Freddie Daugherty and Joe Curles, Jr. Survivors are her husband, Mr. Fred Daugherty of Pelham; five sons, Tommy Gene Daugherty and Hollis Daugherty of Palmetto, Fla., Raiford Daugherty of Dover, Fla. and Ronald Daugherty of Meigs; four daughters, Mrs. Oreva Butler and Mrs. Linda Zwyers of Pelham, Mrs. Irma Gassett of Meigs and Mrs. Carolyn Barrington of Ocala, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Angeline Kendall of Moultrie and Mrs. Evelyn Davis of Pelham. Also surviving are twenty-nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Parker Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
