Albany, Georgia. 1994. James Walter Thornton, 74, of Albany, died Monday 12 Dec 1988, at his home. Services were held at the Dellwood Baptist Church, with the Rev Wallace Little officiating. Burial was in the Delwood Cemetery. Thornton, born 11 Nov 1914, in Mitchell County, was the son of the late Albert N. and Mary Etta Luckey Thornton. He was a carpenter. He was a member Dellwood Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Inez Darley Thornton of Albany; one daughter, Gail Edwards of Sylvester; two sons, Wayne Thornton of Miami Springs, Fla., and Steve Thornton of Mabelton; two sisters Eunice Maples of Doerun, and Montine Keadle of Camilla; two brothers, Buddy Albert Thornton of Defuniak Springs, Fla., and Fred Thornton of Camilla; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Parker Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
