Obituary of Lula Mae Crosby Mathews 
as written in "The Camilla Enterprise" dated 5 Nov 1980.  

Camilla, Georgia.  

Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Mae Crosby 
Mathews, 88 years of age of Camilla will be conducted today, Wednesday, 5 Nov 1980, 
at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Parker Funeral Home.  Rev E. T. Davis will officiate 
with interment in the Oakview Cemetery.  Mrs. Mathews passed away MOnday, 3 Nov 
1980, at the Mitchell County Hospital following a brief illness.  Mrs. Mathews was a 
native of Mitchell County born on 23 Sep 1892, daughter of the late Joshua Crosby and 
Amanda Crosby. she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Camilla and 
the widow of the late Rastus Mathews.  Serving as pallbearers will be Brantley Collins, 
R. D. Covington, Joe Adams, Vernon Twitty, Charles Stripling, James Gordon Davis and 
James Simmons.  Survivors include one son, Charles R. Mathews Sr. of Camilla; two 
daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Vaughn of Los Angeles, Calf. and Mrs. Rebecca Hatfield of 
Imperial, Calf.  Also surviving are six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
