Camilla, Georgia. Thomas Baker Twitty Jr., 85, of Camilla died 4 May 1989, at Mitchell County Hospital. Services were held Sunday, 7 May 1989, at 3:00 PM in the Parker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev E. T. Davis officiating, assisted by the Rev Harris Malcolm. Burial was held in the Oakview Cemetery. Twitty was a native of Mitchell County. He was born 19 Sep 1893, son of the late Thomas Baker Twitty Sr. and Tennie Wood Twitty. He was a retired bookkeeper and a member of the Camilla First Baptist Church. His wife was the late Evelyn Perry Twitty. A daughter, Evelyna, preceded him in death. Survivors include one brother, Vernon Twitty Sr. of Camilla; and two grandsons, Tom Monk of Norcross and George Monk of Woodstock. Pallbearers were Harry Collins, Dan Royal, Richard Royal, Joe M. Palmer Jr., Joe B. Adams, Lucien Bush and Charles Mathews. Parker Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
