(Buddy) Thornton, 88, of Defuniak Springs, Fla., died Friday May 11, 1990 at Doctors Hospital in Bonifay, Fla. Grave side services were held at 3:00 PM, 14 May, at Oakview Cemetery with the Rev. Owen Smith officiating. Thornton was born 7 Dec 1901, in Mitchell County, the sone of Albert and Mary Etta Luckey Thornton. He was retired from Pan American Airlines. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Defuniak Springs. Survivors include his wife, Hensyelle Thompson Thornton of Defuniak springs; three daughters, Jackie Lou Malone, Ann Black of Defuniak Springs and Nancy Patricia Memken of Edmond, Ok.; a son, Richard Thornton of Largo, Fl.; two sisters, Eunice Maples of Doerun, Ga. and Montine Keadle of Camilla, Ga.; a brother, Fred Thornton of Albany, Ga.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Parker Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
