Albany, Georgia. 1994. ANDREW MELTON "MITT" PALMER, Sr. 86, of Route 3, Pelham, died 18 Oct 1989, at Archbold Memorial hospital in Thomasville. Funeral services were held Friday, Oct 20 at 2 p. m. at Mispah Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Max Childs officiated, and Elder Leon Andrews assisted. Burial was in Mispah Cemetery. Born Dec 16, 1902, in Grady County, he was the son of the late Elijah and Georgia McClelland Palmer. He was a retired farmer and was a member of Mispah Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Eva Mae Pritchard Palmer of Pelham; four sons, Verlon Palmer of Rome, NY; Edsel Palmer of Pelham; Melton Palmer Jr. of Macon; and Ammie L. Palmer of Lilburn; three daughters --Joyce Hurst of Pelham; Mavolyn P. NeSmith of Blakely; and Evelyn P. Liles of Atlanta; one sister Dollie Wiggins, Pelham; ten grandchildren; two step- grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Leon Tinsley, Jr., Elwyn Childs, T. H. Wiggins, Gary Palmer, DeLeon Palmer, and Russell Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Melvin Sellers, Loring Sellers, Ludie Palmer, Louie Palmer, Casper Sellers, Leon Tinsley, Sr., and Donnie Williams. Braswell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
