Merkison Harrell Kirkland as written in "The Bainbridge Post Search Light" dated 21 Dec 1991. Bainbridge, Georgia. Mrs. Annie O. Kirkland of Brinson died 19 Dec 1991, at Memorial Hospital after two weeks of illness. She was 69. Mrs. Kirkland was born in Seminole County on 30 Nov 1922, however, she spent most of her life in Decatur County. She was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Reynoldsville and a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Kirkland. She is survived by three daughters, Nora Day and Joy Cook, both of Bainbridge, and Edith Jensen of Portland, Ore.; one sone, Larry Harrell of Brinson; four stepdaughters, Helen Kelley of Bainbridge, Patricia Thursby and Hilda Warriner, both of Reynoldsville and Geneva Middleton of Donaldsonville; three stepsons, Stanley and William Kirkland, both of Brinson and Hiram Kirkland of Oklahoma City, Ok.; one brother, Lonnie Merkison of Cairo; one sister, Dora Goodwin of Brinson; 29 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Services were held 21 Dec at the Calvary Assembly of God Church with the Rev Curtis Earnest and the Rev James Rathel officiating Burial followed in Bethany Cemetery in Brinson. Pallbearers were her grandsons. Cox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
