Obituary of Billy Joe Shiver 
as written in "The Albany Herald" dated 27 Mar 1996.  

Albany, Georgia.  
Billy Joe Shiver, 63, of Bethlehem, Ga. died Sunday at Walton 
Medical Center in Monroe, Ga.  The funeral will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, 28 Mar 1996, 
at Mathews Oaklawn Chapel Funeral Home.  The Rev Vaughn Cornell will officiate.  A 
native of Pelham, Mr. Shiver lived in Panama City, Fla, before moving to Bethlehem a 
year ago.  He was a retired district manager with Metropolitan Insurance Company, 
Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, a Mason and a member of Hadgi Shrine 
Temple and the Elks Lodge NO. 1598.  He was a Methodist.  Survivors include three 
sons, Green Smith Shiver of Panama City, Francis Wayne Shiver of Amelia, Va. and 
Jerry Ernest Shiver of Belgium, Wisc.; a daughter, Jennifer Faith Shiver Munro of 
Wichita, Kan.; two brothers, Moe Shiver of Albany, and Ernest Alvin shiver of Meigs; 
three sisters, Jeannette Clark and Geraldine Shiver of Albany and Mary Donna Hancock 
of Hogansville; and 10 grandchildren.
