Veterinarian, farmer CAMILLA - Dr. Carroll P. Adams, 77, of Camilla died Saturday at John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Camilla with burial in Oakview Cemetery. The Revs. Dr. Harris Malcom and Weyman Cleveland will officiate. Adams was a retired veterinarian and a farmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Camilla, where he worked with the youth and served on numerous committees. He was a 1943 graduate of Auburn University's School of Veterinary Medicine and served in the Army during World War II. In 1999, Dr. Adams was named Conservation Man of the Year in Mitchell County by the USDA/Natural Resources Conservation Service. He was a member of the Downtown Development Authority of the City of Camilla, the Camilla Rotary Club for over 50 years and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was the widower of Dorothy Fain Adams. Survivors include a daughter, Frances Ann Adams Vann of Thomasville; two sons, Carroll Kipling Adams of Newnan and William Fain Adams of Atlanta; a sister, Martha Laura Brown of Decatur; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be receive at the Adams residence, 545 Moultrie Road, Camilla. Memorials may be made to the Boys and Girls Club, 108 S. Harney St.,Camilla, or Habitat for Humanity, 1139 W. Broad Ave., Albany. Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
