Page 319 (printed 1 Sep 1993). 1994. Eunice Thornton Maples, 94, of Doerun died Monday 30 Aug 1993 at Worth County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday 1 Sep at Bridgeboro Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby J. Brown officiating. Burial will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery. Born 28 Jan 1899 in Mitchell County, Ga. she was the daughter of the late Albert N. and Ella Luckey Thornton. She was a homemaker and had resided in Doerun since 1916. She was previously married to Herbert Jenkins who died in 1939. She was a member of Bridgeboro Baptist Church, where she was a long-time pianist. Survivors include a daughter, Madelaine Jenkins Bumstead of Doerun; a son, Ray Jenkins of Baltimore, Md.; a sister Mrs. Homer Keadle of Camilla; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
