Camilla, Georgia. Lula Taylor Thornton, 76, of Camilla, died Tuesday, 20 Feb 1990 at her residence. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Friday, 23 Feb 1990, at Hopeful Baptist Church with the Rev Doug Rumley officiating. Burial was at the Hopeful Cemetery. Mrs. Thornton was the daughter of the late Albert and Ada McKown Taylor. She was a member of the Hopeful Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, W. F. Thornton of Camilla; six sons, Wallace Thornton of Homestead, Fla, Donald Thornton of Okechobee, Fla., Tim and Larry Thornton of Camilla, Richard Thornton of Albany, and Randy Thornton of Pelham; three daughters, Beffie Glenn and Mary Ray of Camilla, and Phyllis Paite of Miami, Fla.; four brothers, Floyd, Robert and Albert Taylor of Camilla and Bennie Taylor of Valrico, Fla.; three sisters, Elizabeth Thornton and Edna Sharp of Camilla, and Carolyn Hayes of Albany; 23 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Parker Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
