Bainbridge, Ga. Mr. Leroy Kirkland of Brinson died on Tuesday 25 Jun 1991, at Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. Mr. Kirkland was born in Decatur County on Jan 31, 1911, and was a lifetime resident of this county. He was a retired mechanic and a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie M. Kirkland of Brinson; four daughters, Helen Kelley of Bainbridge and Patricia Thursby, Hilda Warriner and Geneva Middleton, all of Donaldsonville; three sons, William and Stanley Kirkland of Brinson and Hiram Kirkland of Midwest City, Okla.; two brothers, Johnny Kirkland of Loganville and Jim Kirkland of Fayetteville; one sister, Minnie Boyd of Brinson; three step-daughters, Edith Jensen of Portland, Ore,; and Nora Day and Joy Cook, both of Bainbridge; one step-son, Larry Harrell of Brinson; 29 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Services were held on 27 June at Calvary Assembly of God Church with the Rev Curtis Earnest and the Rev James Rathel officiating. Burial followed in Bethany Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wade Kirkland, Jamie Warriner, Michael Kirkland, Brandon Kirkland, Vann Thursby and Brandy Middleton. Honorary pallbearers were Woodrow Odom, Joe Brown, Jimmy Brown, Mitchell Cornerford and all male members of Calvary Assembly of God Church. Cox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
