Owen Lorraine Cook, 77, of Meigs, died Sunday 17 Mar 1991 at H.C.A. Palmyra Park Hospital in Albany. Funeral services were held Tuesday, 19 Mar 1991, at 3:00 PM at Hinsonton Baptist Church. The Rev M. B. Jordan officiated and the Rev Howard Cooper assisted. Burial was in the Akridge Cemetery. Born in Mitchell County, he was the son of Nora Akridge and James Cook. He was retired from the ASCS and was a member of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of World War II. He was married t the late Thelma Avery Cook. Survivors include one son, James D. Cook of Leesburg; two daughters, Cathy Abbott of Cairo and Betty Carr of Hinsonton and seven grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Earl Cook, Melvin Cook, Kendall Wilson, Raburn Avery, Randall Avery and Wallace Avery. Braswell Funeral Home of Pelham was in charge of arrangements.
