Albany, Georgia. Pelham, Ga.>>> Thelma Mercer Palmer, 87, of Americus, formerly of Pelham, died Sunday, 1 Sep 1996, at Sumter Regional Hospital in Americus. The funeral will be at 3:30 PM Thursday, 5 Sep 1996, at Braswell funeral Home in Pelham with burial in Mispah Cemetery. Elder Hushell Walker will officiate. A native of Sumter County, Mrs. Palmer was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late Issac Lester Palmer. survivors include two sons, K. D. Palmer Sr. and Gary Palmer of Pelham; a daughter, Zelma Williams of Pelham; three brothers, Fred V., David G. and Jessie Mercer all of Albany; three sisters, Inez Barron of Lawrenceville, Anne Gardner of Putney and Betty Bryant of Americus; eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
