Albany, Georgia. 1994. William Fred Thornton, 82, of Port St. Joe, Fla., died Monday, 15 Mar 1993 at Bay St. Joe Nursing Home in Port St. Joe. Services were held Wednesday, 17 Mar, by Gilmore Funeral Home in Port St. Joe. Born in Mitchell County in 1910, Thornton was the son of A.N. and Marietta Luckey Thornton. He had made his home in Mitchell County until recently when he moved to Port St. Joe. Survivors include six sons, Fred Wallace Thornton of Defuniak Springs, Fla., Donald O. Thornton of Okeechobee, Fla., Timothy M., Larry N., and Randy R. Thornton of Camilla, Richard E. of Albany; three daughters, Bess T. Glenn and Mary Ray of Camilla; Phyllis Paite of Miami, Fla; two sisters, Eunice Maples of Bridgeboro and Montine Keadle of Camilla.
