Faircloth as written in "The Albany Herald" dated 11 Sep 1999. Winston H. Faircloth, 81, of 1068 E. Lee St., Dawson, died Thursday at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. The funeral will be at 10:30 AM Monday at Dawson United Methodist Church with burial at 2 p.m. in the Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville. The Revs. James R. Emery and James Mallard will officiate. A native of Mitchell County, Mr. Faircloth was a retired Sergeant Major with the Army with 22 years of service. He served in World War II and the Korean War. He was one of 110 Honor Guards selected from the Armed Forces for the inauguration of President John F. Kennedy. After his retirement from the Army in 1962,he was employed with civil service at Keesler Air Force Base, in Biloxi, Miss., for a number of years. He was a member of the Dawson United Methodist Church and the Berean Sunday School Class, the Terrell County V.F.W. Post No. 5743, the American Legion and the Golden Kiwanis Club of Dawson. Survivors include his wife, Constance C. Faircloth of Dawson; a stepdaughter, Cynthia Seidel of Traverse City, Mich.; and a step-grandson. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Harvey Funeral Home.
