Albany, Georgia. CAMILLA--- Byron Thomas Cooper, 66, of Pelham died Friday, November 1, 2002, at his residence. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Steve Wooten and the Rev. Franklin Russ will officiate. Pallbearers include Durie Cooper, Mark Pollock, David Cooper, Michael Hurst, Russell Brown, Jimmy Barber, Ansley Smith and Marvin Hooks. Born January 18, 1936 in Mitchell County, Mr. Cooper was a Federal State Peanut Inspector and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Mr. Cooper was the son of the late B.J. and Jewel Faircloth Cooper. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Akridge, Doris Crosby and Jewel Moore; and three brothers, Deloyd Cooper, Charles (Dick) Cooper and Collis Cooper. Survivors include his wife, Marzine R. Cooper of Pelham; a daughter, Rhonda Cooper of Pelham; a stepdaughter, Gloria Lowe of Cairo; three stepsons, Wayne Hurst of Pelham, Michael Hurst of Pelham and Billy Hurst of Pelham; five sisters, Flora Bell Singleton of Camilla, Mildred Barber of Greensboro, Fla., Louise Smith of Pelham, Jeanne Pollock Adams of Camilla and Margaret Bedsole of Havana, Fla.; a brother, Franklin D. "Boe" Cooper of Camilla; four granddaughters and two grandsons; two great-granddaughters. Visitation will be from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
