Obituary of Carroll Foister Sr. 
as written in "The Albany Herald" date 11 Jul 2001. 

 
Carroll Foister Sr., 72, of Baconton died Monday, July 9, 2001, at Phoebe Putney 
Memorial hospital in Albany.  Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at Parker-
Bramlett Funeral Home with burial in Union Cemetery. The Rev. Bennie Cumbie and the 
Rev. Todd Holden will officiate.  Born January 22, 1929, in Mitchell County, Mr. Foister 
was owner/operator of Foister Tractor and Equipment Company and a member of Mt. 
Pleasant Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Ivey Eugene and Allie Johnson 
Foister.  Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Foister of Baconton; a daughter and son-in-
law, Judy and Nelson Burnett Jr. of Sale City; a son and daughter-in-law, Carroll Foister 
Jr. and Tammy of Baconton; sister, Evelyn Burtz of Pebble City; three grandchildren, 
Curry Foister, Ivy Foister and Erin Burnett; and several nieces and nephews.
