Albany, Georgia. CAMILLA-- Charles Rastus Mathews Sr., 86, of 272 E. Broad Street, Camilla, died Saturday, September 29, 2001, at Park Place Assistance Living in Ocala, Fla. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Camilla with burial in Oakview Cemetery in Camilla. The Rev. Dr. Harris Malcolm and the Rev. Dion Brown will officiate. The pallbearers will be Bobby Dixon, Steve Dixon, Michael Dixon, Micah Sieder, Stephen Davis, Jason Garrett and Ty Cribbs. The honorary pallbearers will be the Fellowship Sunday School Class and Lucien Bush Sr. A native of Camilla, Mr. Mathews was a retired car salesman and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Camilla, American Legion, Lions Club and Mitchell County Sports Hall of Fame. Survivors include his son, Charles Mathews Jr. of Ocala, Fla.; two daughters, Libby Dixon of Brevard, N.C., and Charlene Garrett of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sisters, Elizabeth Vaughn and Rebecca Hatfield, both of Wofford Heights, Calif.; six grandchildren, five step grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Mathews and parents, Lula Mae Crosby and Rastus Mathews. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O.
