CAMILLA--James Marvin Crosson, 79, of Camilla died Monday, June 25, 2001, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oakview Cemetery in Camilla. The Rev. Gene Yelverton will officiate. Pallbearers include Leon Pate, Randy Covington, Butler McDonald, Billy Wood, Lee Burnett, Bo Spence, Roy Luke, Donald Shirah, Ray Gray, and Harry Mauldin. Born August 20, 1921, in Mitchell County, Mr. Crosson was owner and operator of Crosson Trucking Company for over 30 years. Mr. Crosson was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of Camilla United Methodist Church, where he was also a member of the J. Gardner Sunday School Class. He was a former member of the Woodmen of the World. He was married to the late Annette Roles Crosson and was the son of the late Major Pierce and Janie Gray Crosson. Mr. Crosson was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellen Crosson and a son, Charles P. Crosson. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James Albert "Herky" and Patsy Crosson of Albany; three grandchildren, Bert and Haley Crosson of Tifton, Luke Crosson of Camilla, and Lynn Crosson of Camilla. Visitation will be 7 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. today at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Camilla United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
