Albany, Georgia. Bessie Maude Booker Griner, 87, of Albany died Wednesday, January 30, 2002, at Palmyra Medical Centers. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Banks Funeral Chapel with interment in Cool Springs Cemetery in Colquitt County. The Rev. Ray Bittner will officiate. A native of Lee County, Mrs. Griner had lived in Worth County most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Beulah United Methodist Church. Mr. and Mrs. Griner would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary February 4, 2002. Survivors include her husband, James M. Griner of Albany; daughter, Yvonne Griner Quinn of Albany; brother, Emerson Booker of Albany; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Griner was preceded in death by one son, J. Roland Griner, May 16, 1998 and her parents, Emmett Booker and Ursula Porter Booker Clements. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
