Hal Cochran, 62, of Baconton, died Monday, January 21, 2002, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Camilla with burial in Oakview Cemetery. The Rev. Dion Brown and the Rev. Lester Turley will officiate. Pallbearers include Craig Watson, Milt Powell, Bryan Cochran, Handley Taylor, Ralph Faircloth and Parker Raley. Born February 17, 1939, in Dougherty County, Hal was retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 35 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Camilla and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Hal was the son of the late Atwood Beauregard "Bubba" and Hallie Bryan Cochran. Survivors include his wife, Linda Cochran of Baconton; a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Darren Jones of Baconton; two sons and daughters- in-law, Hal Cochran Jr. and Sunny Cochran of Sale City and Scott and Melissa Cochran of Baconton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, A.B. and Jo Cochran of Prattville, Ala., and James and Anita Cochran of Merced, Calif.; a sister and brother-in-law, Martha Leah and Milton Powell of Baconton; five grandchildren, Hilliary Jones, Stephanie Jones, Courtney Cochran, Ty Cochran and Walt Cochran. Visitation will be 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
