Mrs. Emma Johnson Autry, oldest member of the Hinsonton Baptist Church where she worshipped for years and took active part, died at the age of eighty-eight on Saturday, March 17, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville. Funeral services were held Monday, March 19, at Hinsonton Baptist Church with Rev. L. Z. Widener, assisted by Rev. P. J. Keadle, officiating. Interment followed in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Colquitt county by the side of her husband, J. M. Autry, who preceded her in death just four years ago. Active pallbearers were John Collins Sr., John M. Roberts, J. T. Kelley, Rufus Davis, Otis Harrell and Hubert I. Palmer. Braswell Funeral Home of Pelham was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Autry was born in Sumter county on February 27, 1868. She had been a resident of Hinsonton community for the past fifty years. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Malissa Leverette of Hinsonton, Mrs. L. A. Edwards, also of Hinsonton, Mrs. J. E. Sapp of Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Stetson Adams of Hinsonton; two sons, J. E. Autry and D. D. Autry, both of Hinsonton; three brothers, E. B. Johnson of McIntosh, Fla., and J. M. Johnson and E. L. Johnson, both of Hinsonton; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Young of Leslie, Mrs. Mary Herman, also of Leslie and Mrs. Fletcher Bautrice of Sulphur Springs, Fla.
