Camilla, Georgia. Mr. Thomas Elihu "Buddy" Akridge passed away at Howard Hospital, Pelham, Monday night, May 27th, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident last Friday P. M. on Rt. 3, Camilla. Funeral services were held at 4 P. M. Wednesday, May 29th, at Pebble City Baptist Church. Rev. H. N. Earnest officiated. He was assisted by Rev. E. T. Vines Jr. and Rev. T. E. Pickron. Pallbearers were John Akridge, Clifford Akridge, Paul Smith, T. G. Edwards, Bill Tom Edwards and Hiram Cato. Thomas Elihu Akridge was the son of the late Elihu Akridge and Nancy Adams Akridge. He was 70 years of age last April 24th. He was born and reared in Mitchell County. He was a farmer and landowner in Pebble City community. Survivors are his wife, Essie Barnett Akridge; two daughters, Mrs. David Finley of Andalusia, Alabama and Mrs. J. W. Stallings of College Park, Ga.; two sons, H. B. Akridge of Jacksonville, Fla., and Tom E. Akridge Jr. of Camilla; one sister, Miss Alice Akridge of Camilla; and three grandchildren.
